Growing urbanization and social inequality increases the risk of violence and is preventing urban areas from reaching their full potential. So, what can be done to build trust and common ground between historically adversarial civil society and law enforcement sectors in the Global South?

A Community Health Promoter trained in Psychological First Aid helped form Sisi Kwa Sisi, a network of local leaders, CHPs, boda boda riders, and youth who work together to support people in distress. The group offers quick emotional and practical help, like hospital transport and reporting cases. With 83 active members, the community now responds sooner, trusts the system more, and has resolved several crises through collective action.
