Midrift, Police Sensitise Pupils on Violence Prevention

Corporal Beth Kamau, Gender officer, Kaptembwo police station and Corporal Nyakundi Nyatete Gender officer, Nakuru Central police station at Koinange Primary School conducting a sensitization forum on the Pupils Rights and Responsibilities in Violence Prevention.

The Programme undertaken by MIDRIFT HURINET and supported by Danish Institute Against Torture (DIGNITY) aims to achieve the following Objectives:

1. To build trust between the police officers and school actors

2. Change perceptions of violence and reduce violence within family relations and within the community (identifying and challenging Normalized Violence)

3. To promote knowledge on rights among pupils / Students using the ‘101 Questions Booklet’

4. To build basic conditions for collective action in violence prevention by targeting police and pupils/students (awareness of mechanisms for violence prevention & reporting.
