MIDRIFT HURINET is a non-profit organization operating in Kenya since 2OO8. The organization’s Mission is to empower Citizens, State and Non-State Actors to inculcate a Culture of Human Rights, Good Governance, Peace and Security.
A prosperous society that enjoys Human Rights, Good Governance, Peace and Security.
To empower Citizens, State and Non-State actors to inculcate a Culture of Human Rights, Good Governance, Peace and Security in Kenya.
We Address challenges like Peace and Security, Governance, and Human Rights requires collaboration. MIDRIFT HURINET adopts a Multi-Sectoral Approach (MSA) to unite stakeholders in creating shared strategies, tools, and action plans.
MSA fosters resource-sharing and holistic solutions while promoting Human Rights, Accountability, Inclusion, and Dialogue. By working closely with communities, MIDRIFT HURINET strengthens resilience, trust, and local ownership. Over the past 10 years, it has empowered state actors, enhanced accountability, and supported participatory governance to prevent conflict and promote social cohesion. This people-centered approach builds trust and legitimacy, addressing perceptions of exclusion and marginalization.
We acknowledge Kenya’s ongoing peace and security challenges, including political violence, ethnic tensions, and land disputes in various regions. Resource conflicts, illicit arms, organized crime, and Gender-Based Violence further destabilize communities. Rising radicalization and terrorism threats continue to spread, making national cohesion and stability critical priorities.
We recognize Kenya’s progress in governance, rule of law, and human rights since the 2010 Constitution but acknowledge ongoing challenges like corruption, inequality, and ethnic divisions. Leveraging Article 10, we co-create programs with communities and stakeholders to promote democracy, accountability, human rights, and inclusivity.
We empower citizens, state, and non-state actors to promote Human Rights, Good Governance, Peace, and Security. Through partnerships, we strengthen communities, CBOs, NGOs, and government agencies by equipping them with the right mindsets, skillsets, and toolsets to drive positive change.
We engage stakeholders to foster dialogue, resolve conflicts, and promote reconciliation. Through capacity building, advocacy, and inclusive participation, we strengthen community resilience and sustainable peace efforts.
We promote transparency, accountability, and human rights through public awareness, policy advocacy, and anti-corruption initiatives. Our efforts ensure civic participation and effective governance.
We build the capacity of government agencies, civil society, and local leaders to enhance institutional efficiency. By supporting policy development, we strengthen governance structures and service delivery.
We empower communities to participate in governance and peacebuilding through forums, advocacy, and local initiatives. Women, youth, and marginalized groups play a key role in decision-making.
We conduct research to address governance gaps, security threats, and institutional challenges. Our advocacy efforts influence policies that promote inclusion, stability, and institutional growth.
We foster strategic partnerships with government, development agencies, and peacebuilding networks. By leveraging expertise and resources, we drive collective efforts in governance and human rights.
Join us in the fight against GBV, the push for mental well-being, and the mission to build safer communities!
