Multi-Sectoral Coordination and Collaboration Forums on Peace and Security Institutionalized in Kenya

In a major policy shift, Kenya’s Ministry of Interior and National Administration mandated the creation of Multisectoral Coordination and Collaboration Forums on Peace and Security in all 47 counties, fostering inclusive dialogue between state and non-state actors. With support from MIDRIFT HURINET and partners, these forums have been institutionalized at county and sub-county levels—laying the foundation for sustainable, community-driven peacebuilding efforts across the country.
PM+ Support Groups in Karagita,Naivasha & Rhonda,Nakuru West Build Economic Paths

In Nakuru County’s informal settlements of Karagita and Rhonda, former PM+ clients have formed self-sustaining support groups that offer psychosocial support and run income-generating initiatives like soap making and table banking. These groups, initiated through MIDRIFT’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Support project, continue to strengthen community resilience and peer support beyond the formal intervention.
Community-Led Efforts Combat Triple Threat in Baringo County Schools

Three sexual defilement cases involving students from Kaptimbor Primary School in Baringo County were successfully prosecuted for the first time, with five more pending in court. This milestone is part of a broader effort by Place-Based Leadership Development (PBLD) leaders to address the “Triple Threat” of HIV, teenage pregnancies, and gender-based violence among adolescents through school and community-driven interventions.
