Building Active Youth Leadership through non-Formal Learning (B.A.L.L)

The B.A.L.L. Project (Building Active Youth Leadership through Non-Formal Learning)

The Project is a two-year transnational initiative that brings together youth organisations from Denmark, Ghana, and Kenya to strengthen youth leadership, civic engagement, and peer-to-peer learning through sports and non-formal education.

Co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ “Capacity Building in the Field of Youth” programme and supported by CISU Denmark, the project aims to create stronger collaboration between youth organisations in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa while empowering young people to become active citizens and positive role models in their communities.

The project is led by GAME (Denmark) in partnership with DUNK Grassroots (Ghana), MIDRIFT HURINET, and Amani Kibera (Kenya).

Strengthening Youth Leadership Across Borders

The two-year initiative running from December 2025 to November 2027, focuses on strengthening collaboration and youth-led processes among partner organisations working with young people in Denmark, Ghana, and Kenya. Through non-formal learning approaches, the project seeks to increase young people’s participation in civic engagement by creating inclusive spaces for learning, collaboration, and active participation.

Using GAME’s Playmaker Methodology, young people will gain practical leadership skills, advocacy experience, and opportunities to engage in community-driven initiatives. The project places young people at the center of planning, decision-making, and implementation, ensuring that youth voices shape activities at local, national, and transnational levels.

Through strengthened partnerships, leadership development, and cross-cultural collaboration, the B.A.L.L. Project seeks to create lasting opportunities for young people to become active citizens and positive role models in their communities.
